At first I thought it was a steep hill and a heavy load, but even on a flat surface it was slowing me down, so I pulled over to the side of the highway. Hi. I have been playing ETS2 for a while with a Logitech G920 and shifter. I have been using manual transmission. My question is, what is a retarder, how do I use it and do I have to use it. I know its about slowing down or something but I already use the engine braking. What do you guys recommend Hi Everyone, Lately I've been playing the game, however, I just discovered yesterday, that when I hit the brakes it simultaneusly activates the retarder in my truck. This only happens when I have the automatic retarder option activated. I have 3 profiles 1 with only promods and the other 2 are vanilla and in all 3 it works on the same way. Smart Cruise Control = Automatically applies retarder (or engine brake if you don't have a retarder) to keep you at the CC speed limit. Tolerance = means it will allow you to go X mph/kph faster than CC before it starts to brake. eg: If you're set at 30mph but have tolerance at 5mph it will let you go 35 before applying the auxiliary brakes. The first can be dealt with by tuning it of and checking in the Gameplay Options if Auto retarder/Engine brake is not ticked. The second is not chsngeable as that is the normal behaviour of every vehicle. I checked and they are not ticked. And it's not the second option you said, because the truck is going braked, it slows down very quickly Hi, I have a problem with the retarder of my trucks and it is if I go over 50km/h (31mph) the retarder activates itself. I think it´s one of the mods that causes this problem, but if I quit a mod (let´s just say a Kenworth W900) I will lose the truck? My speech is ass but I can explain twice lol Btw, my brother is looking for a cummins nc13 engine for a Marcopolo Scania he said, the thing is Wyu80U. In order for the retarader to work, you must have a gearbox with retarder. You can try and reassign the buttons to control retarder and cruise-control in settings. I have a G920, and have assigned the ABXY buttons Re: Retarder related problem. First try deactivating automatic retarder (if you haven't already) and see if that resolves the issue. If it does, it may be a brake pedal issue. If you're using pedals, ensure there is a small dead zone for each pedal (this ensures there is an "off" zone). Finally, try unassigning and reassigning your retarder keys. – added more realistic retarder values. *IMPORTANT note: In order for this gearbox to work in “automatic” or “real automatic” mode, as it was intended, you need to go to the file of the engine that you currently use and delete this data: # RPM Data. rpm_range_high_gear: (xxxx, yyyy) Credits: StaticTM a retarder will always function at the setting you put it to the engine brake is RPM dependent although using either at a high power setting and trying to corner can lead to results you tried to avoid by slowing down. #8.
